So I'm back in Delhi after an incredible trip to Mozambique and South Africa, but before I get back to blogging about microfinance, economic development and other tales from India, I wanted to share a few more shots and stories from my journey to the southern hemisphere.
From sitting in a tiny seat on an $8 bus ride across rural Mozambique to a decked-out Landrover on an all-inclusive safari in Kruger National Park (click here for an unbelievable YouTube Kruger Safari), from a trip to the Zimbabwean border where refugees are flooding into a South Africa to deserted Mozambican beaches where humpback whales play just past the breakers, from a from drive past the slum-lined airport in Capetown to the green and pristine Cape of Good Hope, I was able to see different sides of a civilizational puzzle, at times both depressing and inspiring, made from various layers of economic development and environment, different levels of goods and services and diverse life situations of people, black and white, rich and poor, African and foreigner finally being integrated in the Southern tip of this fascinating and beautiful continent.
I can't wait to go back.
